Promotion Sunday is coming up on August 6!
Promotion Sunday is the day when our children who are age- and grade-ready will move up to their next class. Promotion Sunday impacts both our children’s & student ministries.
Here is a quick look at the classes that both these ministries offer on Sunday mornings.
CHILDREN’S MINISTRY
9:30 HOUR
- Nursery
- 2-3-year-old Class
- 4-5-year-old Class
- Kindergarten Class
- 1st-2nd Grade Class
- 3rd-4th Grade Class
- 5th-6th Grade Class
11:00 HOUR
- Nursery
- Wee Worship (2-5-year-old)
- Kids Church (Kindergarten—6th Grade)
STUDENT MINISTRY
9:30 HOUR
Our Student Ministry, (7th-12th Grade) meets to connect together over scripture. When they meet they play games, have a lesson over scripture, and then break into small groups to discuss the passage, then they come back together to share what they learned.
11:00 HOUR
Our student ministry worships together in the worship center with the rest of the church
On August 6th, some children will be moving to a new class. This could be a 2-year-old moving into the 2-3-year-old class. Kids who will be going into Kindergarten, 1st Grade, 3rd Grade, or 5th Grade will be moving into a new class. Students going into 7th Grade will also be joining the student ministry
PROMOTION SUNDAY HIGHLIGHTS FOR CHILDREN’S MINISTRY
- Check-in area with Color Assignment (Each child is given a specific color based on their grade level)
- Kids find their class by looking for the balloons that match their color
- Parents meet the teachers
- Snacks provided in each class
- Fun get-to-know-you activities in each class
PROMOTION SUNDAY HIGHLIGHTS FOR STUDENT MINISTRY
- Welcoming new students with breakfast
- Icebreaker games to get to know the other students
- After service parents will meet with Michael to discuss events and plans for the fall
