The first four months at Crossroads have been filled with lots of exciting ministry moments, special events, and, to top it all off, Easter. We wanted to take some time to look back at the past few months and celebrate some of the things that have happened at Crossroads so far in 2025.
JANUARY
TCTC
Our Student Ministry went to Gatlinburg for the annual Tennessee Christian Teen Convention. 50 students and 11 volunteers braved the weather and went to Gatlinburg. They had a great time at the event; it was much smaller than a TCTC, which had positive aspects. The positive is that finding and keeping our students together was much better, and we got better seats. The conference was great; the students loved the music and talent, but not as much as the speaker. Our students seemed already prepped on apologetics from our conversation last year, and what they already know.
Night of Prayer & Worship
We kicked off our Spring Semester of Midweek programming with another night of Prayer & Worship. This was a beautiful service where we lifted up God's name, prayed and lamented as a church family, took communion, and were able to pray for one another.
Midweek Fellowship Meals & Table Talks
To start our Midweek Programming, we hosted three fellowship meals, which preceded our Night of Prayer and Table Talks. These fellowship meals saw over 100 people come out each week to eat a meal and gather in community.
We also had special combined teaching times for two weeks as our adults and students gathered together to learn about the Spiritual Disciplines and form a Rule of Life. This time was very formative and offered a chance to discuss with others.
FEBRUARY
Midweek Programming Resumes
While our Midweek Programming started with the Night of Prayer & Table Talks, our official start of Midweek Programming kicked off on February 5. We started groups for adults, students, and kids, which have continued through the Spring Semester.
Night To Shine
Night to Shine is a special needs prom hosted by the Tim Tebow foundation and Crossroads has hosted this event for years. 267 guests attended and 250 and volunteers served. We want to thank everyone who helped contribute to this evening and to help love on and celebrate this community.
Women's Retreat
Every spring, our Women's Ministry hosts a retreat. This year, 70 women attended and enjoyed wonderful fellowship, teaching and “down-time”. They explored the theme, "Journey to Peace" and had discussions about the many different ways you can find peace in this life.
Agape Baby Bottle Fundraiser
Every February, we participate in the Baby Bottle Fundraiser with Agape Women's Services of Johnson City. This year we raised $3,871.42 through this fundraiser.
MARCH
Student Ministry Guys & Girls Retreats
Our Student Ministry hosted two retreats, one for girls and one for guys. Over 30 students came this weekend, and 10 volunteers helped and made it a special weekend.
Young Adults Retreat
22 young adults went to Camp ACC for a weekend of worship and fellowship. They talked about the cost of discipleship, and working through what it means to be disciplined in our walk and what we have to give up to be Jesus' disciples.
ETSU Campus House Meal
We had a group from Crossroads take a meal to ETSU Campus House, one of our missions partners. We were able to serve and fellowship with 20 students and the staff of Campus House.
5th Sunday Family Worship
On March 30, we participated in our first 5th Sunday Family Worship of the year. During these services our elementary students are invited to join us in the main worship services. This year on 5th Sundays, we are exploring the Sermon Theme, "Church Unboxed," where we are looking at things we do in church such as baptism, our theme for this month, and talk about why we do it and providing discussions for the families in our worship service to take home and discuss.
Parent/Child Dedication
On March 30, we held our Spring Parent / Child Dedication. This is a time where families are invited to dedicate their children to the community of Crossroads and the church dedicates themselves to helping these families raise and disciple their children. We had five families participate in Parent/ Child dedication this March and we are honored to join with these families as they disciple their families.
APRIL
Men's Ministry Breakfast & Campus Clean Up
Our Men's Ministry hosted its quarterly breakfast on April 5 and followed it up with a campus clean up day to prep the campus for Easter. We had over 20 people show up for fellowship and to help clean up our flower beds around campus.
Eggstravaganza
On April 12, we hosted Eggstravaganza which is a time to share the story of Holy Week with families. We had over 75 families attend to hear the Easter story, decorate cookies, play on inflatables, and participate in the Easter Egg Hunt.
Good Friday Service
On Friday, April 17, our choir led a Good Friday service. This was a beautiful time of reflection and contemplation on the cross. We left putting nails in the cross and remembering the sacrifice Jesus made.
Easter Services
We hosted 4 Easter services over the Saturday and Sunday of Easter weekend and we had over 1200 people on our campus for those services. We were honored to have everyone join us and learn how Easter changes everything. During our Easter services, we had 9 people step forward and decided to be baptized.
Baptisms
So far this year, we have celebrated with 22 people as they have made the decision to be baptized. If you see these people, congratulate them and remember to pray for them and encourage them as they continue their discipleship journey with Jesus.
