Summer is a fun time at Crossroads where our normal programming is paused and we get to engage in some special summer activities and programs. So far in June, we have had a lot of fun activities in our church life. Here is a look at what happeneed at Crossroads this June!

Vacation Bible School

We kicked off June with our annual Vacation Bible School. this year our kids participated in the Great Jungle Journey where they went from Genesis to Revelation and looked at the 7 C's of history: Creation, Corruption, Catastrophe, Confusion, Christ, Cross, and Consummation. They had a great week learning about the Bible and had a lot of fun. We had 159 kids registered for the week and 90 volunteers showed up during the week to serve! Thanks to everyone who made VBS possible!

Youth/Student VBS

Our Student Ministry had its second annual Youth VBS. This was a time for rising 7th graders and other middle and high school students to play games around our campus before Vacation Bible School. 28 students participated in scavenger hunts, slip-n-slide kickball, capture-the-flag, and more! It was a fun time for students!

Camp ACC

One of our ministry partners is Appalachian Christian Camp in Unicoi, Tennessee. This camp offers all kinds of camps for kids and students of all ages. This summer, Crossroads had 36 kids total to camp in additional to dozens of adult and student counselors. These kids had a great time learning about Jesus and having fun in the great outdoors.

Connect Groups

This summer, we launched something new called Connect Groups. These Connect Groups revolve around an activity and have been a great opportunity for people to get to know each other around fun activities. Our Connect Groups have been meeting for a month and many still plan to meet through July. If you haven't gotten connected to a Group yet, check them out below.

Disc Golf Tournament

Our Men's Ministry hosted its second Disc Golf Tournament and opened this tournament up to everyone. There were 20 men, women, and kids who came out to eat a few hot dogs and learn the basics of Disc Golf before playing 9-holes around our campus.

Memberships

We celebrated new members again this month at Crossroads. Vickie Gray, Chris & Bonnie Gilbert, Dave & Debbie Fuller all placed membership with Crossroads this month. We are so honored they have joined the Crossroads family.

If you are interested in church membership, attend a Discover Crossroads Class to learn more about our church and to start the conversation about this step.

Student Ministry Mission Trip

Our Student Ministry had 26 people go and serve in Maytown, Kentucky for flood relief. Our students helped insulate a house, paint a senior center, and build and seal a deck alongside Southpoint Community Christian Church from Trenton, Michigan. We had a ton of fun, but we also learned about the people in Appalachia, and how we can take the mission home to our community here in East Tennessee!
