Located in beautiful East Tennessee, Crossroads Christian Church is a cornerstone of the local community. The church was founded in 2001 and has a 28-acre campus with updated facilities. In many ways, Crossroads is the community gathering place for Gray, with our buildings and sports fields being utilized over 300 times per year by our neighbors.  

The mission of Crossroads is to make following Jesus a way of life. We fulfill this charge by pursuing personal growth in our identity with Jesus, living and serving together in community, and being on mission by making an impact for the Gospel with the people in our area and beyond.  

Crossroads is seeking a Connect Minister to join our team, working closely with other staff and leadership to create a ministry that helps others take their next step with Christ and the congregation of Crossroads Christian Church.

Responsibilities and Duties

As the Connect Minister, you will play a key role in shaping the church’s assimilation and disciple making environments by:

  • Developing and overseeing systems that help guests feel welcomed, and encourages them to take their next step toward church involvement. 
  • Leading and equipping First Impressions teams (greeters, ushers, welcome center volunteers, parking teams, etc.).
  • Ensuring timely follow-up with first-time guests.
  • Teaching and Implementing approved membership classes and onboarding processes.
  • Facilitating connections to ministry opportunities, volunteer teams, and discipleship environments by working alongside various ministry leaders.
  • Overseeing and resourcing small groups and classes as directed by the Lead Minister.
  • Recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers.
  • Developing strategies for launching and multiplying groups and classes.
  • Working with all pastoral staff on vision, church-wide events, and strategic ministry initiatives.
  • Providing pastoral care and support to group leaders, volunteers, and members as needed.
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications and Skills

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Spiritually mature, deeply rooted in Scripture, and committed to the Bible as the final authority.
  • Theologically grounded, preferred holding a B.A. in biblical or theological studies, and aligned with the values and beliefs of Crossroads. 
  • Aligned with the Restoration Movement, valuing its heritage and core principles.
  • A strong cultural fit, embracing the mission and DNA of Crossroads, and passionate about community outreach.
  • Biblically wise, able to teach with clarity and apply Scripture with sound judgment.
  • Experienced, ideally with multiple years of ministry leadership.
  • A relational leader, able to connect authentically with guests and church members.
